3 Month update

So you can pretty much call me the biggest blog slacker ever. It has been over a month since I have been on here I guess I have been preoccupied with other things. I have been trying to enjoy every minute I can with Addisyn as I am back to work 2 weeks from today. It is going to be extremely hard for me to go back to work but I am hoping once I am back and in the swing of things I will remember why I love my job as well. I am going to go into work a couple times between now and when I go back just to catch up on things. I think it makes it harder to go back since I have been home with Addisyn for 3 1/2 months. I feel so fortunate that I have had this amount of time to spend with her and would not trade it for anything.

We took Addisyn on her first big trip to Virginia!! She did great on the plane and slept most of the way. We started our trip off with a visit at the Hodges' house for a night and then headed down to Yorktown area. We stayed with Barry for a couple of nights and Brant, Teresa and Maddox for a night. We were also able to visit with the Walker family and the Ghoreshi's while we were in town. We had fun seeing everyone and introducing them to Addisyn. Then we headed up to DC for Brian and Krista's wedding and a visit to Aunt Bonnie's. Addisyn stayed with Aunt Bonnie while we were at the wedding (thanks Aunt Bonnie!). That was the longest stretch that we had left her, we really appreciated everything. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time celebrating with Brian and Krista. We stayed with Bonnie for 2 nights and stopped and visited Grammers before heading back to Yorktown. Whew! It was a busy trip and we were exhausted when we got home but we enjoyed every minute of it!

Addisyn has been changing so much everyday. She is getting more and more curious about things and is starting to hold rattles in her hands and grab onto things. Fortunately for us her sleeping habits are changing for the better (knock on wood lol). She is sleeping through the night now (most of the time) which has been wonderful!

We had her baptism a week ago. Craig and Rachel came up from Texas and "Gran" came from Virginia for the occasion. We were so happy they could all come and celebrate with us. It was a great day and we had a blast celebrating. I thought that she would love the water on her head as she loves the bathtub and getting her hair washed but she was not a big fan I am guessing because the water was not warm like in the bathtub.

I think winter has arrived, this last weekend we had our first snowfall...just flurries and it didn't stick to the ground but it was still snow. I guess we can't complain because we have had a beautiful fall. Not much else is new around the Bailey household, I apologize for being such a slacker on the blog! I hope you are all doing well and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

2 months old already!

Our little peanut is 2 months old already, so hard to believe. I have been enjoying every minute but it seems to go so fast! She is growing like crazy and everyday surprises us with something new. She is starting to be so much more aware of her environment and is really looking at things around her. We are having so much fun with her. She had her 2 month old check up yesterday and the doctor told us she is a "rockstar" lol. The doctor was very impressed with her weight gain and how strong she is. She weighed in at 12 pounds 5 ounces and 22 inches. She is in the 85th percentile for weight and the 42nd for height. Both Bryan and I were pudgy babies so it was in her genes! I love all of her baby rolls and am glad that she is a healthy and growing girl!

So we have realized that Addisyn was meant to be a tummy sleeper. Everytime we lay her on her back she freaks out but on her stomach she sleeps great. The only problem is they aren't supposed to sleep on their tummies quite yet. So for now we let her nap on her tummy while we can watch her.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous so we have been trying to soak it up and enjoy every minute of it. Before we know it I know we will be amongst several feet of snow so we need to enjoy it while its here :)

On the 17th we are headed on our first big journey with Addisyn. We are off to Virginia for a visit and are really looking forward to it! Hopefully the plane trip will go smoothly, I am sure this first time will be an experience but we will get used to it. Neither Bryan or I travel lightly so adding a newborn with all of her stuff should be interesting to say the least :) That's it for now...hope you are all well.

Back to Blogging

Alright so once again I haven't updated this in forever! But I am back at it. The last couple weeks have been busy, but I guess that is just life with a newborn :) Her sleeping habits vary drastically from night to night. I don't know what changes it so much from night to night when we feel like we do the exact same thing all of the time but I am sure that will change with time. She can go from one night sleeping in a 6 hour stretch without waking up (last night) to sleeping what seems like not at all. I think she is just making sure we know who is the princess of the house haha. She was put on medicine for acid reflux, she gets it so bad that you can hear it...it's horrible we feel so bad for her. The doctor said the medicine can take 2-3 weeks to start working...we are on week one so we will see. I think once that is under control she will be a better sleeper also.

This weekend we took our first little road trip out to Minneapolis. My brother and sister-in-law were there for a wedding so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go visit. We had a great time. Addisyn did great in the car on the way out there, she slept the whole time. The way home she was a little more restless but still did really well considering it was a 5 hour drive. She also decided to sleep that night which was nice so she didn't keep all of the hotel guests awake :) We went to the Mall of America since Bryan had never been there. It was great to be able to see Craig and Rachel and spend time with them. We are planning our first big trip in October out to Virginia for Brian Robey's wedding. Hopefully Addisyn will continue to be a good traveler.

Bryan continues to be on the job hunt. He had an interview last week that went really well. Except on the webiste the job was listed in Appleton but come to find out it is really in Mosinee which would be like an hour and twenty minute drive one way. We will see what comes of it and take one thing at a time. He is taking a grad school class which is keeping him busy. I continue to enjoy every minute that I have at home with Addisyn. I feel like it is going to go so fast and I am going to be back at work before I know it. I know I keep saying this but hopefully I will start to get better about updating more often!

One Year Ago...

Sunday Bryan and I celebrated our one year anniversary. All I can say is what an amazing year it has been. It is so hard to believe that it has been a whole year...how time flies. Now a year later we are not only celebrating our anniversary but welcoming our biggest blessing into the world. I am so blessed with such an amazing husband and now seeing what an wonderful dad Bryan is to Addisyn only makes me love him more (which I didn't even know was possible). We have definitely packed a lot into the past year. As we were looking back on the past year we have decided that we don't like our life to be quiet...we are always up for the next challenge. We went from me starting a new career, buying a new home and getting settled in, to finding out that we had a little miracle on the way. Life has truly given us so much to be thankful for.

On Thursday Bryan and I went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary while Grandma and Grandpa watched Addisyn. But on Sunday we were able to celebrate our special day with lots of fun at the lake and a nice relaxing night. On top of it Addisyn slept great which means we did too!! One of the best Anniversary presents ever! This weekend/week has been fun having Brant, Teresa, and Maddox in town. We are so glad that were able to make the trip to come visit. It has been so precious to watch Maddox with Addisyn he is such a good helper and is going to make a great big brother to baby Colton! He said to me today, "Aunt Kasey, taking care of babies is lots of hard work huh?" It was so cute. Anyway, thats it for now I need to catch some sleep while Addisyn is asleep. We all continue to do well and hope that all of you are too! I will leave this with a link to the beautiful slideshow Carmen made for us...enjoy! http://www.vimeo.com/14516685
Lots of Love,

Catching up...

Alright so it has been awhile since I have come on here and blogged but I guess that's what happens when you have a newborn! We are finally settling into life, the three of us. Addisyn has been such a blessing and we are enjoying every minute of her (even at 2:00 in the morning). Everyday she changes so much! I feel like I need to enjoy every second because I already feel like she is growing so quickly. Overall she has been doing great. We have had a couple of pretty much sleepless nights but she has been doing better now. Last night she slept in 4 hour spurts which means I got some much needed sleep as well.

She had her two week check up and is doing fantastic. At their 2 week appointment they like them to weigh what they weighed at birth or more and she weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces which is great (she was 7;15 at birth). She is getting some cute pudgy checks and baby rolls...I love it! We took her for a hip ultrasound because the pediatrician said with breech babies their hips are not always in the socket so she wanted to be sure...everything came back great so we were happy about that. I went in for my 3 week post-op check up and my incision is healing great. It is amazing how you can hardly even see a scar! Having a c-section really was not as bad as I had anticipated...don't get me wrong it was definitely painful but I felt I was able to bounce back pretty quickly.

Last week Carmen came to visit and we were so excited she was able to make the trip up here. She did Addisyn's newborn pictures and they are absolutely amazing! The pictures are priceless and are something we will cherish forever and it was so special that a close friend was the one who was able to capture these special pictures...we love you Carmen! Thanks again for everything!

We are thrilled that Brant, Teresa and Maddox are coming to visit tomorrow! We are so excited to spend time with them and have them meet Addisyn.

Last night Bryan and I went out for the first time just the two of us since Addisyn was born. My parents took her for a couple of hours so we could go to dinner and celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time and were so happy we could get some time the two of us. After being gone for 3 hours we were both ready to get back home and see her :) It's funny how life changes lol.

Sorry this is getting kind of long winded, it has just been awhile and so much has happened in the last three weeks. I know I am still missing a bunch of things but at least it is somewhat of an update.

We just want to thank all of our family and friends for their love and support at this exciting time. We are so blessed with such wonderful people in our lives and are so thankful for everything that everyone has done for us. We love you all! I will hopefully get better about updating now that we are getting into a little more of a routine.

Adjusting to life at home

So it has been a week today since our little princess decided to make her debut. She has truely been a blessing and we are enjoying every minute with her. She changes so much each day that we are just trying to cherish every moment. We could just sit and watch her for hours (we pretty much do lol) all of the little faces, yawns, coos and stretches are so adorable. The first night home from the hospital was a little rough as she didn't sleep much. She had some jaundace so she came home with a billybed (which is like a little tanning bed) and she hated it! So she didn't sleep much. After one night on the bed we took her to the doctor to have her levels checked and she was back to normal so we were able to get rid of the billybed and ever since she has slept great! She gets up about every 3 hours to eat but thats about it. All our family have been such a big help and we are so thankful for everything they have done.

Yesterday Bryan and his dad were working on rehanging the dry wall in our basement and Bryan decided to cut his finger so he was off to the doctor and ended up having his finger glued back together...never a dull moment in our household! Other than that we are just enjoying getting adjusted to life at home with a newborn! Thank you all for thinking of us and for the well wishes...we appreciate everything!

We are all still doing well just getting excited to go home. Addisyn has been sleeping in the nursery at night so that we can rest up before we go home. The nurse said that she was the best sleeper out of all the babies in the nursery last night. However I have a feeling that will change once we go home. All of the nurses have been Wonderful and have been taking good care of all of us. We have had lots of visitors, it has been great to see everyone and have them meet Addisyn. We will go home tomorrow which will be really nice, it seems like I haven't been home in forever! Especially since we left in such a hurry to get to the hospital and it was so unexpected. Bryan has been amazing and it is so special to see him as a Dad. He has been so helpful and is such an amazing Dad already. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, we can't wait for all of you to meet Addisyn. Lots of love!

Addisyn Evelynn Bailey

We are so excited that our little girl arrived. Words cannot even explain how we feel...it is like instant joy. She surprised us at 1:00 this morning when my water broke. We got to the hospital at about 2:00 and had our baby girl in our arms at 3:55 am! She is absolutely beautiful and doing fantastic! She weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces and is 20 inches long. Everything went really smooth with the c-section now it is just the path to recovery! I was able to get up and take a shower by about 11:00 which felt fantastic. I have been moving VERY slow but have been able to get out of bed twice now. I will post more later but here are some pictures for now...enjoy!

2 weeks and counting!

It is so crazy to think 2 weeks from tonight we will have our little girl in our arms! We are so excited and can't wait for the big day to be here. Things are finally shaping up around the Bailey household. I finally feel like I have been able to clean the house this week and not have workers coming in to mess things up again. We are getting all ready for visitors and the big arrival. We are looking forward to everyone getting here. Bryan's dad and Jean are coming a week from tomorrow and his mom is coming on the 9th. Then after they all leave Brant, Teresa and Maddox will be coming on the 28th. It will be great to have everyone here to share this special time with us!!

We went to the doctor today and everything looks great. Her heartbeat was 145 and she is still active as can be but is still breech. I am definitely not sleeping as well since I get up like 4 times a night to go the bathroom, I guess it is preparing me for the sleepless nights ahead! Other than that we are just keeping busy getting everything ready and enjoying these last couple of weeks spending time just the 2 of us. Bryan is trying to get as much golf in as possible and is playing in a charity golf outing on Saturday. I am working on getting everything set for my long term sub at school so that I wont have to worry about it after our peanut is here. I will post some pictures soon...we need to take some more recent ones, you can definitely tell I am about to pop! We hope that you are all doing well.

It's official!

So it's official we have a birth date for Baby Girl Bailey! We have a c-section scheduled for August 10th at 5:00. Although a c-section was not my preference at this point it is the safest way for our little peanut to arrive.
We had a doctors appointment this morning with an ultrasound. The placenta moved from 1.7 cm to 2.2 cm. The doctor said they need at least 2 cm to do a natural birth but like to have it 2.5 cm away. Although it moved she decided to stay breech so it doesn't really matter that it moved. The doctor told us she could try to turn her but said she thought we would have a 5-10% chance of success since she is packed in there and it can be stressful on the baby. I feel like at this point she is healthy so why take any risks. Because even if she does turn the placenta is still boarder line as far as being far enough away from the cervix. So Bryan and I both decided that just going with the c-section would be the best choice. Everything looked great on the ultrasound she is as content as can be in there. The ultrasound tech said she doesn't forsee her turning on her own because she has her little butt cheeks wedged right in my pelvis. She was active on the ultrasound but still covering her face just like last time with her hands and feet. I guess she is going to wait to reveal her face until her big debut!! I am one centimeter dilated which really doesn't mean much. If I were to go into labor before our scheduled c-section then they will just deliver her at that point. Otherwise I am feeling great, just overly excited especially now that we have a date!

The basement project is coming along. It is dry and mold free so that is all I care about at this point the rest will get done. We have the baby's room all ready which is what is important at this point. We are having a rummage sale this week to clear some stuff out of our house. Whatever doesn't sell is going straight to Goodwill! I am in major nesting mode and just want the house to be ready for our new little addition and all of our company :)

We hope you are all doing well. We will keep you all posted over the next couple of weeks as the arrival gets closer! Also...pictures to come :)

Trip to Virginia...baby shower and the 4th

So I have officially been HORRIBLE about updating this. Life has thrown us a few curve balls in the past couple weeks which has taken up some time but hopefully we are on the up swing before our "little peanut" arrives. So bear with me as this could be a long entry.

First of all our trip to Virginia...it was wonderful and I am so glad that we were able to make it back before the baby. We started our trip off in DC to stay with Bonnie for a couple of days. She welcomed us with pink balloons :) We have wanted to go to DC to stay with her for so long and I am so glad we finally were able to. We got in around midnight and she had dinner on the table waiting for us! Such a wonderful hostess. We had a great time. Our plan was to go in and sightsee in DC but the weather was extremely hot and it didn't sound to appealing with being 8 months pregnant so we decided to just hang out and go see Grammers instead.

After a couple of days in DC we headed down to Yorktown/Gloucester. Blake and Michelle, along with Carrie threw us a wonderful baby shower! Everything was so nice and they did such a great job of putting everything together. We are so thankful for everything they did. We are definitelly blessed with so many wonderful family and friends. It was so nice to have all of our family and friends together and to celebrate Baby Girl Bailey! She is one spoiled/loved little girl already! Here are some pictures from the shower...Thank you for everything!

Her very first soccer ball that everyone signed!

We enjoyed our week and a half but it always seems like we don't have enough time to see everyone we want to but never-the-less it was a great trip. We spent the 4th with Blake and Michelle and went to see the Yorktown fireworks.

We left the day after the 4th in a U-haul with all of Bryan's stuff in tow. We were so fortunate to have Bill, Brenda, Barry, and Jean's help loading up...we couldn't have done it without everyone! Oh and how could I forget our little helper Maddox. He told me he used to just lift little stuff but he has been lifting weights so now he can lift the heavy stuff...too cute. He climbed in the U-haul and buried himself behind crates and wanted us to shut the door. He said he wanted to be shipped to Wisconsin :) Our drive back went smoothly and was uneventful. The first day we made it between Louisville and Indianapolis and then we stopped for the night. We woke up the next day and finished off the drive and made it home by about 1:00. My parents and brother came over and helped us unload the U-haul and my mom brought a home cooked meal over which was nice after our long drive :)

So just when we thought everything was getting put together and organized for Baby Girl Bailey...we have a disaster! We have been getting a tremendous amount of rain in the past couple of weeks. Well, during one of the rain storms our sump pump decided to stop working :( I went downstairs to find 4 inches of standing water! I was just sick and could not believe it! I wouldn't have cared if we didn't have carpet and things down there but it has been a mess. The water went up into the dry wall on top of it. So in came the restoration company to dry us out. They took off all the baseboards, drilled holes in the dry wall and ripped out the carpet. They thought that would do it but after the 72 hour window they have to dry everything out there were still parts in one of our finished rooms where the dry wall was not dry. So they had to cut out our dry wall about a foot up from the ground all the way around! Uggh I guess thats life though and it could have been much worse. It's not so bad now that we can move things back down there. I don't care if it doesn't get finished right away as long as I can organize the upstairs of the house.

This past week my dad ended up in the hospital with abdominal pain, but is doing much better which I am so thankful for. I was so worried about him and am just glad to see him doing better. My dad is not one to be sick so I knew that it had to be bad if he was willing to go into the doctor. So now hopefully we are all on the up swing!

No new news for Bryan on the job front, there have been a couple of new opportunities that he has applied for that will hopefully lead to something. I have still been feeling great I just can't believe how time is flying. She is going to be here before we know it! We go into the doctor on Wednesday and thats when we will know for sure if we are having a c-section or not. If we do have a c-section it is scheduled for August 10th! I will update on Tuesday after we know more! Hope you are all doing well...sorry for the extremely long post.

Congrats Kris and Eddie!!

This past weekend we had my friend Kris' wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a blast. I am so happy that we could be part of their special day. Kris was such a beautiful bride. We are so happy for them and wish them all the best. It was nice to be able to see and hang out with my friends from college. My dress even managed to fit which was a relief! We danced the night away and were definitely exhausted by the time Sunday came, but it was well worth it.

Today we had our 32 week check up with an ultrasound. It is looking more and more like a c-section is in the cards for us, but our doctor still wants to do one more ultrasound. Right now she is still breech and the placenta is 1.7 cm off the cervix and it needs to be 2 cm. So it is close but not quite there. Regardless I want to do what is going to be the safest for everyone. She said that 2 cm is the minimum (they really would like 2 1/2 cm) so, it is still no guarantee but she said at that point we can try a regular delivery but in the end I could still end up having a c-section. So at 36 weeks we will have another ultrasound and make the call at that point. She said that if the placenta is exactally 2 cm away then Bryan and I can make the call if we want to try a normal delivery or if we want to just do the c-section. However, she is still breech so that also has to change. The doctor said that as the weeks go by there is less and less of a chance that she will turn. So I have accepted the fact that it will likely be a c-section.

The ultrasound was a lot of fun, but we weren't able to get a really clear picture of her face since our little stinker had her hands and feet in front of it. The ultrasound tech said she has a ton of hair! We also noticed that she has chubby little cheeks :) Everything looked great as far as her development goes. She is weighing in right now at about 4 pounds 2 ounces! The doctor also gave me the green light to travel to Virginia this week which I was thrilled about! Last appointment she was a little leary about me going but she said that she thinks I will be just fine since things have been uneventful up to this point :) So overall things are going really well and the nursery is pretty much done. Now we will just await her arrival patiently!! We are really looking forward to seeing everyone in Virginia and being able to spend time with family and friends! We are leaving on Thursday and flying into DC to spend a couple nights with Bonnie and then we will be heading down to Gloucester and Yorktown! Hope you are all doing well. Here are a couple of pictures from the ultrasound...they couldn't get many good pictures since she was hiding her little face!

This is a side shot of her face in 3D you can see her nose, eye, and half of her mouth. The big white area in front of her face is her leg (her foot is over her head), I guess she is using it as a pillow haha.

This is a picture of her head/brain/hair. You can see the hairs sticking off her head where the arrows are pointing. :)

Road Trip

This past weekend we decided to take a quick road trip down to Rolla, Missouri to visit Bryan's Mamaw. We had a great trip. On the way down we got stuck in road construction so it took us about 10 hours instead of 9. The trip home went really smooth though without any delays. We had a great trip. It was so nice to finally meet Bryan's Mamaw, Uncle Jim, cousin Megan and her 2 kids, and his Aunt Cindy. It was a really quick trip but well worth it! We have to take advantage of being able to pick up and go like that because it will soon change when our baby girl arrives!

Bryan has been busy looking for a job, we are just praying that something will come up. The nursery is getting there and is almost done! It is exciting to see it all come together and to think it will be just a few short months before she arrives! I have been feeling great overall. She has been moving a ton, to the point where we can see her little feet poke out. We have another appointment on Tuesday and they will do another ultrasound to see if she is still breech and if the placenta has moved. We are really looking forward to our trip out to Virginia next week! Here are some pictures of the nursery so far...

29 Week Appointment

So we had another appointment this week. It didn't exactally go how I had hoped it would but bottom line baby girl Bailey is doing great and healthy as can be! Now for the down side...they did another ultrasound since at my 20 week appointment the placenta was low lying (it's supposed to be at the top, mine is at the bottom). So they did another ultrasound which showed that the placenta is still hanging out at the bottom, which would mean I would need to have a c-section. It is obviously not what I want but I am just trying to remember what is important and that is a healthy baby. On top of it she has turned and is now breech so even if the placenta moves she also has to turn (at our 20 week ultrasound she was head down). The doctor said that a breech baby is very common with a low lying placenta. My doctor is not giving up yet, she said there is still time for it to move as the baby grows so we will do another ultrasound in 2 weeks and then every 4 weeks after that until delivery. On the up side it was fun having another ultrasound and being able to see her again. She was so funny she just kept playing with her toes. I wasn't able to see her face since she is folded in half and had her hands and feet covering her face. It was neat to see her little lungs working like crazy and practicing breathing. All of her organs looked great and she has been really active. We will keep you posted...

Other than that, Bryan is done traveling!!! This weekend there has been a lot of progress made in the nursery which has been fun. Bryan is working hard at getting it painted and it will hopefully be done today! The furniture for the nursery is here so as you can imagine I am getting really anxious to get it all moved in! I am officially done with school for the summer. It hasn't quite sunk in that I will be off work for the next 6 months. I am sure it will go fast as there is a lot I want to get done before our little peanut arrives! Hope everyone is doing well!

Baby Showers!

This weekend we had not one but 2 baby showers! We are so blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends. Our little girl is so lucky to have so many people that love her already!
First on Friday afternoon my co-workers threw me a shower at school. It was wonderful and I had a great time. It was fun to hang out with everyone "outside of work." Having such awesome co-workers makes going to work so much more fun! They were so thoughtful to have put such a great shower together. We received all kinds of wonderful books along with many other useful things!

Then on Saturday my mom threw me a shower and it was beautiful. She worked so hard to make it special for me and she did a wonderful job! It was more than I could have ever asked for! It was so great to see everyone and to celebrate. I could have never imagined all of the wonderful gifts we received. I am so thankful for everything, it is such a big help in preparing for our little girl to arrive! Like Bryan says, it is so hard to believe that you need so much stuff for one little baby!

Bryan was able to get out and go golfing while I was at the baby shower. He has been working long hours and just finished his finance class so he deserved some relaxation! I was so glad that he could get out and have some fun. Originally he was supposed to fly out at 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning to go back to North Carolina. I took him to the airport at 5:30 and then he called at about 7:00 saying that there was fog in Detroit so their flight was delayed. Lucky for us he was able to be rescheduled on a flight at 3:00! For once the weather worked in our favor! It was so nice that he got to come back home and we were able to spend the day together. The weekend just seemed way to short and I felt like I hardly saw him so I was one happy girl!

I'll leave you with one last picture..."the baby bump" :)

27 weeks and still feeling great!

Birthday Celebration

So excited for our little bundle to arrive!!

All I can say is I feel like one lucky girl. I am so blessed with such a wonderful husband. Bryan has been running like crazy between work and grad school but still found time to plan a birthday dinner for me. I didn't expect him to do anything knowing that he has been so busy and it was the last thing he needed to worry about. On Saturday he shipped me out of the house for awhile and I came home to find him preparing an amazing dinner and beautiful flowers! I couldn't believe it. He invited my parents and my brother over and we had a wonderful steak dinner followed by lots of fun playing board games. On top of all of that he got me a jogging stroller for my birthday!! I am so excited to try out "my new wheels" once baby girl Bailey arrives!

Bryan is back in North Carolina for the next two weeks. I was so used to having him home now that it is hard having him travel again but it is only for another couple of weeks. Other than that time has been flying and I can't believe I am almost in my third trimester! I have been feeling great...that is until today. I think that our little girl is sitting right on my sciatic nerve and it definitely doesn't feel the greatest but as long as she keeps growing and stays healthy I am a happy camper! Hope all is well with all of you and that all of you mom's had a wonderful Mother's day! I feel so blessed to have a wonderful mom and mother in law. I know that they are also going to be wonderful grandmother's to our little girl! Thank you for all that you do for us...we love you both!

Strong little girl!!!

Today we had another doctors appointment and everything looked great! I had to have a routine blood sugar test done. In order to prepare for the test I had to drink a bottle of what was basically pure sugar and then they drew my blood an hour later. I think the baby was on a sugar high because she was kicking like crazy. When the doctor went to listen to her heart, she would kick the doppler wand the doctor was using so hard, it was so funny. We were laughing so hard because it was like she was putting on a little show for us haha. My blood sugar labs came back great. The doctor was impressed with the baby's heart rate. She said the baby's heart rate is fluctuating just the way they like it too (when at rest and when she is active), but she said they often don't see that until 28 weeks because it is related to the neuron connections in the brain, so the doctor said we have a little smarty pants on our hands lol. I will go back in 4 weeks for another check up. Until then hopefully things will continue to go smoothly!

25 weeks and growing!

So I know it has been forever since I have posted...I will try to get better. Things have been busy but good. Last weekend we were in Virginia for Mandy and Matt's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time seeing everyone. It was just way too short of a trip! We are looking forward to taking another trip back to Virginia in June so we can spend more time with everyone. Right now our plan is to drive out, since I will be off for the summer and we will have more time. It will be our last trip to Virginia just the two of us! I am sure from this point on traveling will become much more interesting with a little one!

Bryan is back on the road with work. He will be in North Carolina for the next 5 weeks. He is finishing up his grad class in finance so he is staying busy. I have 5 more weeks of school left! I can't believe how fast my first year has gone!

This weekend we spent time working on the nursery. We finally chose a color paint and are now just working on finishing priming it. The people who lived here before us painted stripes which are a pain to cover! It is exciting now that we are making some progress on it though, I am excited to see how it all comes together!

I have been feeling good, but it seems like over the past couple of weeks she has really grown a lot because my stomach has really grown! I go back into the doctor on Tuesday just for a routine check up. I can tell she is getting bigger and stronger because she is kicking like crazy. You can see my stomach move as she kicks, we have been enjoying watching her kick around. I think we have a future soccer player on our hands. Here are some updated pictures of baby girl Bailey! Hope all is well with all of you and that you are enjoying the spring weather!

It's a Girl!!!!!!!!!

Today was an exciting day for us...we found out we are having a little girl! We had an ultrasound that lasted an hour and a half and we had an absolute blast. She was moving like crazy and it was just so interesting to see everything. She is growing at just the rate she should be and everything looked great! The ultrasound tech was very happy with how she was cooperating...that is until she tried to get some pictures of her hands to make sure there were 5 fingers on each hand, instead of opening her hand nicely to show us she decided to give us a thumbs up :) It was just crazy all of the things they can see on an ultrasound from the structures in the brain to the muscles in the legs, talk about fasinating. I also think we are going to have a future thumb sucker on our hands. Throughout the ultrasound she just loved to have either her thumb or fingers in her mouth. We also were able to see her grabbing onto her feet and at one point she curled up and put her foot over her head. She even smiled at us :) Overall it was a wonderful day and just a relief to know that everything is developing well.

Otherwise things have been pretty quiet around here. I am on spring break this week and am really enjoying some time off to do some spring cleaning and relax a little bit. Bryan has been busy finishing up his grad school class and preparing for some presentations that he has to do next week for work.

Here are some updated pictures of my growing tummy...notice the nursery is "under construction" we picked up some paint samples and tried them out to see if we like any.

Bryan Turns the Big 3-0!!!!

On Saturday Bryan turned the big 3-0 and we had a great weekend celebrating. On Friday I got some of our friends together to go out to dinner to celebrate. Bryan was surprised and really enjoyed being able to celebrate with friends. Saturday we started the day off with a big breakfast (Bryan's favorite meal) which included waffles with strawberries and blueberries, scrambled eggs and bacon. Then we went to the Humane Society...we are thinking of adopting a dog to add the family lol. Well we found a dog, the only catch...he is blind. I know it sounds crazy to even consider adopting this dog, but I always seem to fall for the ones that are the runts or that maybe everyone else doesn't think are so cute. He has been working with a trainer who has done an amazing job in making him be able to function like a "normal" dog. He wont be ready to adopt for about 4-6 weeks since the trainer wants more time with him, so we have some time to think about it. He is a yellow lab who they think is about a year old. Both Bryan and I really fell in love with him but we have a lot to think about, especially with another family addition on the way! After the Humane Society we went bowling with my parents and my brother. Bryan bowled one of his all time highs...a 172!!! Pretty impressive. After bowling we went out to dinner and then came home and relaxed. On Sunday, Bryan and my dad went to an indoor driving range to start warming up for the golf season. So it was a busy but fun weekend!

Dinner at Grillin' Friday night

Bryan had to take a picture of his waffles
We have lots of March Birthdays, tonight we went out to dinner to celebrate Phil's 28th Birthday! Happy Birthday Phil!! We also have Craig's Birthday coming up on March 19th!
More updates to come...we have another doctors appointment tomorrow just for a check up...we will keep you posted! :)

Baby Bailey is growing!!!

Here are some pictures of my baby bump. It seems like right around 17 weeks I woke up one morning and there it was! I think I popped over night! It is really fun now that I am starting to show, especially since I am feeling better. Up until the 12 week mark it was kind of rough going between being sick and extremely tired. I would try to watch a movie at night and would fall asleep before the previews were over! Bryan would end up watching my chick flicks by himself, haha. Now I feel great! I have my energy back and am feeling so much better. We go in for our next ultrasound on Tuesday April 6th...which is when we will find out if baby Bailey is a boy or a girl! So for now here is the progression of the baby bump!!
