2 weeks and counting!

It is so crazy to think 2 weeks from tonight we will have our little girl in our arms! We are so excited and can't wait for the big day to be here. Things are finally shaping up around the Bailey household. I finally feel like I have been able to clean the house this week and not have workers coming in to mess things up again. We are getting all ready for visitors and the big arrival. We are looking forward to everyone getting here. Bryan's dad and Jean are coming a week from tomorrow and his mom is coming on the 9th. Then after they all leave Brant, Teresa and Maddox will be coming on the 28th. It will be great to have everyone here to share this special time with us!!

We went to the doctor today and everything looks great. Her heartbeat was 145 and she is still active as can be but is still breech. I am definitely not sleeping as well since I get up like 4 times a night to go the bathroom, I guess it is preparing me for the sleepless nights ahead! Other than that we are just keeping busy getting everything ready and enjoying these last couple of weeks spending time just the 2 of us. Bryan is trying to get as much golf in as possible and is playing in a charity golf outing on Saturday. I am working on getting everything set for my long term sub at school so that I wont have to worry about it after our peanut is here. I will post some pictures soon...we need to take some more recent ones, you can definitely tell I am about to pop! We hope that you are all doing well.

It's official!

So it's official we have a birth date for Baby Girl Bailey! We have a c-section scheduled for August 10th at 5:00. Although a c-section was not my preference at this point it is the safest way for our little peanut to arrive.
We had a doctors appointment this morning with an ultrasound. The placenta moved from 1.7 cm to 2.2 cm. The doctor said they need at least 2 cm to do a natural birth but like to have it 2.5 cm away. Although it moved she decided to stay breech so it doesn't really matter that it moved. The doctor told us she could try to turn her but said she thought we would have a 5-10% chance of success since she is packed in there and it can be stressful on the baby. I feel like at this point she is healthy so why take any risks. Because even if she does turn the placenta is still boarder line as far as being far enough away from the cervix. So Bryan and I both decided that just going with the c-section would be the best choice. Everything looked great on the ultrasound she is as content as can be in there. The ultrasound tech said she doesn't forsee her turning on her own because she has her little butt cheeks wedged right in my pelvis. She was active on the ultrasound but still covering her face just like last time with her hands and feet. I guess she is going to wait to reveal her face until her big debut!! I am one centimeter dilated which really doesn't mean much. If I were to go into labor before our scheduled c-section then they will just deliver her at that point. Otherwise I am feeling great, just overly excited especially now that we have a date!

The basement project is coming along. It is dry and mold free so that is all I care about at this point the rest will get done. We have the baby's room all ready which is what is important at this point. We are having a rummage sale this week to clear some stuff out of our house. Whatever doesn't sell is going straight to Goodwill! I am in major nesting mode and just want the house to be ready for our new little addition and all of our company :)

We hope you are all doing well. We will keep you all posted over the next couple of weeks as the arrival gets closer! Also...pictures to come :)

Trip to Virginia...baby shower and the 4th

So I have officially been HORRIBLE about updating this. Life has thrown us a few curve balls in the past couple weeks which has taken up some time but hopefully we are on the up swing before our "little peanut" arrives. So bear with me as this could be a long entry.

First of all our trip to Virginia...it was wonderful and I am so glad that we were able to make it back before the baby. We started our trip off in DC to stay with Bonnie for a couple of days. She welcomed us with pink balloons :) We have wanted to go to DC to stay with her for so long and I am so glad we finally were able to. We got in around midnight and she had dinner on the table waiting for us! Such a wonderful hostess. We had a great time. Our plan was to go in and sightsee in DC but the weather was extremely hot and it didn't sound to appealing with being 8 months pregnant so we decided to just hang out and go see Grammers instead.

After a couple of days in DC we headed down to Yorktown/Gloucester. Blake and Michelle, along with Carrie threw us a wonderful baby shower! Everything was so nice and they did such a great job of putting everything together. We are so thankful for everything they did. We are definitelly blessed with so many wonderful family and friends. It was so nice to have all of our family and friends together and to celebrate Baby Girl Bailey! She is one spoiled/loved little girl already! Here are some pictures from the shower...Thank you for everything!

Her very first soccer ball that everyone signed!

We enjoyed our week and a half but it always seems like we don't have enough time to see everyone we want to but never-the-less it was a great trip. We spent the 4th with Blake and Michelle and went to see the Yorktown fireworks.

We left the day after the 4th in a U-haul with all of Bryan's stuff in tow. We were so fortunate to have Bill, Brenda, Barry, and Jean's help loading up...we couldn't have done it without everyone! Oh and how could I forget our little helper Maddox. He told me he used to just lift little stuff but he has been lifting weights so now he can lift the heavy stuff...too cute. He climbed in the U-haul and buried himself behind crates and wanted us to shut the door. He said he wanted to be shipped to Wisconsin :) Our drive back went smoothly and was uneventful. The first day we made it between Louisville and Indianapolis and then we stopped for the night. We woke up the next day and finished off the drive and made it home by about 1:00. My parents and brother came over and helped us unload the U-haul and my mom brought a home cooked meal over which was nice after our long drive :)

So just when we thought everything was getting put together and organized for Baby Girl Bailey...we have a disaster! We have been getting a tremendous amount of rain in the past couple of weeks. Well, during one of the rain storms our sump pump decided to stop working :( I went downstairs to find 4 inches of standing water! I was just sick and could not believe it! I wouldn't have cared if we didn't have carpet and things down there but it has been a mess. The water went up into the dry wall on top of it. So in came the restoration company to dry us out. They took off all the baseboards, drilled holes in the dry wall and ripped out the carpet. They thought that would do it but after the 72 hour window they have to dry everything out there were still parts in one of our finished rooms where the dry wall was not dry. So they had to cut out our dry wall about a foot up from the ground all the way around! Uggh I guess thats life though and it could have been much worse. It's not so bad now that we can move things back down there. I don't care if it doesn't get finished right away as long as I can organize the upstairs of the house.

This past week my dad ended up in the hospital with abdominal pain, but is doing much better which I am so thankful for. I was so worried about him and am just glad to see him doing better. My dad is not one to be sick so I knew that it had to be bad if he was willing to go into the doctor. So now hopefully we are all on the up swing!

No new news for Bryan on the job front, there have been a couple of new opportunities that he has applied for that will hopefully lead to something. I have still been feeling great I just can't believe how time is flying. She is going to be here before we know it! We go into the doctor on Wednesday and thats when we will know for sure if we are having a c-section or not. If we do have a c-section it is scheduled for August 10th! I will update on Tuesday after we know more! Hope you are all doing well...sorry for the extremely long post.
